To make a “C minor seventh” (Cm7) chord we use

the 1^st note C

the b3^rd (half step lower from the 3^rd) note D#

the 5^th note G

the b7^th (half step lower from the 7^th) note A#.

This gives us the notes C, D#, G and A# which form the “C minor seventh” chord
