To make a “B minor seventh” (Bm7) chord we use
the 1st note B
the b3rd (half step lower from the 3rd) note D
the 5th note F#
the b7th (half step lower from the 7th) note A.

This gives us the notes B, D, F# and A which form the “B minor seventh” chord
